Hey there! My name is Lucy Ward, and I'm a portrait photographer based in Central Florida. My love for art has been a constant throughout my life, and I found my true passion for photography as a teenager.

From a young age, I was always drawn to capturing moments, whether with disposable film cameras or small digital ones. In high school, during my first photography class, I realized this was more than just a hobby.

I first got into photography in high school when my dad let me borrow his old 35mm film camera for a class. Learning to shoot and develop film in the darkroom sparked something in me and laid the foundation for everything I’ve done since.


I went on to study photography at Daytona State College, then earned my bachelor’s at UCF with a focus on art education. Along the way, I worked freelance and with a local modeling agency, gaining hands-on experience while collaborating with friends and classmates on creative projects.


After taking a break to grow another small business, I’m back in 2025 with a renewed love for photography and a fresh perspective. Excited to keep learning, growing, and creating!

I'm most at home photographing in soft natural light, surrounded by lush foliage and pops of color. I love creating portraits that feel light, airy, and full of life.


Fashion photography has always been a creative outlet for me. It inspires me to explore new ideas and push my style. I’m constantly pulling ideas from movies, music, and whatever I’m into at the moment. My goal is always to capture more than just a pretty photo. I want every image to tell a story, whether it’s yours or one you’ve stepped into.

I used to work for NASCAR in Daytona Beach, which was such a cool experience, especially since I grew up watching the races with my dad. It gave me a behind-the-scenes look at the sport I loved, but I eventually stepped away to focus on school.

I’ve always been a Disney fan, but getting an annual pass in my twenties took it to another level. I started making my own accessories and spent weekends wandering the parks, especially EPCOT. Trying all the different food and drinks around the world became a favorite tradition.

A few years ago, I got into anime, which introduced me to the cosplay community and I’ve loved it ever since. Dressing up with friends at events and meeting other creatives is always a highlight, and it’s what inspired me to start photographing cosplay in the first place.
